Maria Włoszczowska

Polish violinist Maria Włoszczowska is recognised for her versatile musicianship, performing as soloist, director/concertmaster, and chamber musician. Maria Włoszczowska began the 2022/23 season with her solo debut at the BBC Proms performing Kaija Saariaho’s Vers toi qui es si loin with the Royal Northern Sinfonia and Dinis Sousa. As Leader of the Royal Northern Sinfonia, she also directs a number of programmes; one of this season’s highlights includes directing and performing Beethoven’s Violin Concerto. Further afield, Maria Włoszczowska makes her Hong Kong debut at the Hong Kong Musicus Festival and joins the violin faculty at Yellow Barn, Vermont. Last season, Maria Włoszczowska gave her New York recital debut at 92NY with Jeremy Denk performing all six Bach Sonatas for violin and keyboard and they return together this season to the Lammermuir Festival. She appears regularly at the Wigmore Hall and at international festivals such as Musikdorf Ernen in Switzerland, Lammermuir Festival and IMS Prussia Cove as well as a residency at Yellow Barn.  Distinguished artists such as Jeremy Denk, Bengt Forsberg and Dinis Sousa have joined her in recital and other chamber music partners have included Thomas Adès, Alasdair Beatson, Philippe Graffin, Benjamin Grosvenor, Steven Isserlis, Steven Osborne, Hyeyoon Park, Timothy Ridout and the Doric String Quartet.  This season also sees the launch of the Valo Quartet, which she leads; they make their debut appearance in Brussels under the auspices of the Festival Resonances. Recent seasons have seen projects as a guest leader of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and solo appearances with UK and international ensembles, including symphonic and chamber orchestras in her home country of Poland.   This season, Maria Włoszczowska returns to Leipzig to appear as soloist with Reinhard Goebel and the Neues Bachisches Collegium Musicum at the Gewandhaus. Recipient of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Emily Anderson Prize, the Hattori Foundation Senior Award and Poland’s Minister of Culture and National Heritage Prize, she based herself in the UK after completing her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Hungarian violinist and conductor András Keller. In 2018 she won both First Prize and Audience Prize at the XXI Leipzig International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition. Maria Włoszczowska plays on a violin by Francesco Stradivari.

Alexi Kenney

Alexi Kenney, violin
Violinist Alexi Kenney is forging a career that defies categorization, following his interests, intuition, and heart. He is equally at home creating experimental programs and commissioning new works, soloing with major orchestras around the world, and collaborating with some of the most celebrated musicians of our time. Alexi Kenney is the recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant and a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award. Highlights of Alexi Kenney’s 2023/24 season include appearing as soloist with the Dallas, Pittsburgh, and Milwaukee Symphonies, leading a program of his own creation with the New Century Chamber Orchestra, and debuting a new iteration of his project Shifting Ground at the Baryshnikov Arts Center and the Ojai Festival, in collaboration with the new media and video artist Xuan. Shifting Ground intersperses seminal works for solo violin by J.S. Bach with pieces by Matthew Burtner, Mario Davidovsky, Nicola Matteis, Kaija Saariaho, Paul Wiancko, and Du Yun, as well as new commissions by composers Salina Fisher and Angélica Negrón. In recent seasons, Alexi Kenney has soloed with the Cleveland Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, l’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Detroit Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, Indianapolis Symphony, Gulbenkian Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Oregon Symphony, Louisville Orchestra, and l’Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, as well as in a play-conduct role as guest leader of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. He has played recitals at Wigmore Hall, on Carnegie Hall’s ‘Distinctive Debuts’ series, Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival, Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, 92nd Street Y, Mecklenberg-Vorpommern Festival, and the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Winner of the 2013 Concert Artists Guild Competition and laureate of the 2012 Menuhin Competition, Alexi has been profiled by Musical America, Strings Magazine, and The New York Times, and has written for The Strad. Chamber music continues to be a major part of Alexi Kenney’s life, regularly performing at festivals including Caramoor, ChamberFest Cleveland, Chamber Music Northwest, Kronberg, La Jolla, Ojai, Marlboro, Music@Menlo, Ravinia, Seattle, and Spoleto. He is a founding member of Owls—an inverted quartet hailed as a “dream group” by The New York Times—alongside violist Ayane Kozasa, cellist Gabe Cabezas, and cellist-composer Paul Wiancko. Alexi is also an alum of the Bowers Program (formerly CMS 2) at the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Born in Palo Alto, California in 1994, Alexi is a graduate of the New England Conservatory in Boston, where he received an Artist Diploma as a student of Miriam Fried and Donald Weilerstein. Previous mentors in the Bay Area include Wei He, Jenny Rudin, and Natasha Fong. He plays a violin made in London by Stefan-Peter Greiner in 2009 and a bow by François-Nicolas Voirin. Outside of music, Alexi enjoys hojicha, modernist design and architecture, baking for friends (especially this lumberjack cake), and walking for miles on end in whichever city he finds himself, listening to podcasts and Bach on repeat.

Pablo Hernán Benedí

Pablo Hernán Benedí was born in Madrid, where his journey with the violin began. His initial training took place at the Padre Antonio Soler Conservatory in San Lorenzo de El Escorial under the guidance of Polina Kotliarskaya. His early promise in music was evident, and in 2009, he moved to London to further his studies at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Here, he was mentored by distinguished violinists David Takeno and András Keller. Benedí’s education was supported by scholarships from the Martin Musical Scholarship Fund (MMSF), Juventudes Musicales, and La Caixa. An influential figure in his development has been Gordan Nikolic, with whom he has maintained regular contact since the age of 14. In 2010, Pablo Benedí became a member of the renowned Chiaroscuro Quartet. With this ensemble, he has performed at some of the world’s most esteemed concert venues, including London’s Wigmore Hall, New York’s Carnegie Hall, Vienna Konzerthaus, Berlin’s Boulez Saal, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, Tokyo’s Oji Hall, and the Auditorio Nacional in Madrid. The quartet boasts an extensive discography and has received numerous accolades, notably the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik in 2015, Germany’s most prestigious CD award. Pablo Benedí is also a founding member of the Trio Isimsiz, established in 2011. The trio has garnered significant recognition, winning the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award Fellowship, first prize and the audience prize at the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition, and second prize at the Haydn Vienna Competition. Their future engagements include performances at the Beethoven Haus as part of the Complete Beethoven’s Chamber Music series and the complete Beethoven Trios at the Wigmore Hall in London. They are also commissioning a new trio from composer Francisco Coll. As a soloist, Pablo Benedí has performed with several prominent orchestras, including the Philharmonia Orchestra, London Chamber Players, and Concerto Budapest. He is also a regular collaborator as leader or section leader with ensembles such as Arcangelo, Concerto Budapest, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and the Swedish Radio Orchestra. Pablo Hernán Benedí performs on the “Alard” J.B. Vuillaume violin from 1851 and a 1570 Andrea Amati violin, which he plays with his quartet. Pablo Hernán Benedí’s career is marked by his versatile performances both as a soloist and chamber musician. His contributions to the Chiaroscuro Quartet and Trio Isimsiz highlight his commitment to exploring the depth of chamber music while his solo performances demonstrate his virtuosity and expressive range. Eddie Pogossian

Edvard Pogossian, widely known as Eddie Pogossian, is a highly accomplished cellist whose exceptional talent and dedication to music have garnered him international acclaim. Born into a family with a rich musical heritage, Pogossian began his cello studies at a young age and quickly demonstrated remarkable skill and musicality. In 2022, Pogossian achieved significant recognition as the proud Overall Winner, Strings Winner, and Audience Prize Winner at the prestigious Tunbridge Wells International Music Competition. This notable achievement is a testament to his outstanding technical proficiency and profound interpretive abilities. Eddie Pogossian’s talent was further recognized when he won the Juilliard Concerto Competition, leading to a series of remarkable performances. He played Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations with the Juilliard Orchestra under the baton of the legendary Itzhak Perlman. These performances took place at esteemed venues, including David Geffen Hall in New York and the Harris Theater in Chicago. The Chicago Tribune praised his performances, highlighting his “astonishing musical and technical maturity” and “winning lightness of touch to everything he played, combined with a velvety tone.” Throughout his career, Eddie Pogossian has appeared as a soloist with several renowned orchestras, including the Boston Pops, Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, Royal Northern Sinfonia, and the New Mexico Philharmonic. His collaborations with these orchestras have solidified his reputation as a cellist of extraordinary caliber. Eddie Pogossian’s commitment to chamber music is equally noteworthy. He attended the esteemed Yellow Barn and the Marlboro Festival from 2019 to 2022, where he honed his skills and collaborated with other distinguished musicians. He is a dedicated member of Trio Isimsiz, a piano trio that has performed extensively throughout Europe, with notable appearances at the renowned Wigmore Hall. His contributions to the trio are marked by his deep musical insight and expressive playing. In addition to his performance career, Eddie Pogossian has recently taken on a new role as a professor at the Royal Northern College of Music. This professorship allows him to share his extensive knowledge and experience with the next generation of cellists, fostering their growth and development in the field of classical music. Eddie Pogossian is also a frequent guest principal cellist with the Royal Northern Sinfonia, where his leadership and musicianship are highly valued. Hélène Clément

Hélène ClémentHélène Clément, viola

Born in France in 1988, Hélène Clément has learned to combine her proud love for french wine with the cheese delicacies found in England when she moved to London in 2013. Her ferocious enthusiasm and thirst for the chamber music and viola repertoire leads her to constantly expand her musical horizons by performing with a wide range of different collaborations, playing in the most prestigious concert halls in Europe and around the World.

Following her passion as a chamber musician, she has performed at the Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Wigmore Hall in London, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Cité de la Musique in Paris. Her chamber music partners have included Mitsuko Uchida, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Nicolas Altstaedt, Benjamin Grosvenor, Alexander Melnikov and Peter Wispelwey, as well as the Brentano String Quartet and the Nash Ensemble. Since September 2013, she is the viola player of the Doric String Quartet, with which she fulfils her appetite for deep explorations of the repertoire, from Haydn String Quartets to newly commissioned pieces. Recent highlights include recitals at the Amsterdam Muziekgebouw, Vienna Musikverein, Frankfurt Alte Oper, Hamburg Laeiszhalle and De Singel, and regular performances at the Wigmore Hall. Further afield they have toured to Japan, Israel, Australia, America, Asia and New Zealand. The Quartet has released a wide range of recordings, working exclusively with Chandos Records. Their most recent releases include works by Haydn, Britten, Mozart and Mendelssohn. Hélène Clément is a frequent guest at the prestigious Marlboro Music Festival in America and Prussia Cove in England. She teaches viola and chamber music at the Royal Academy of Music of London. Mentoring and coaching young talents is taking a growing place in her life, and she is with her String Quartet the Artistic Director of the Mendelssohn on Mull Festival, a position that sees her play a key role in providing young professionals in the field of chamber music with a week of intensive mentoring, coaching and development. Hélène Clément is currently playing on a 1843 Italian viola owned previously by Benjamin Britten and Frank Bridge. The viola is generously lent to her by Britten Pears Arts.

Isidora Timotijević

IsidoraIsidora Timotijević, viola
Isidora Timotijević, born in 1997 in Belgrade, Serbia, is an accomplished violist. She began her musical journey with violin lessons at seven and transitioned to viola at fourteen under Tomislav Milosevic’s guidance. Isidora Timotijević completed her Bachelor’s degree at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg with Thomas Riebl and is currently studying with Roland Glassl at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München. She has played with prestigious ensembles such as Camerata Salzburg, Deutsche Kammerakademie Neuss, and Salzburg Chamber Soloists. Her performances have taken her to Brazil, China, Germany, Hong Kong, South Korea, Switzerland, and Austria. She has also participated in numerous international festivals, including Musique à Marsac in France, Eggenfelden Klassisch Music Festival in Germany, and Festival Next Generation in Switzerland. Isidora Timotijević has received numerous awards at both national and international competitions, excelling as a soloist and chamber musician. She is also a member of Ensemble Esperanza, an un-conducted chamber orchestra comprising scholarship holders from the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein, which won the OPUS Klassik award in 2018. Additionally, she has been a violist with the Beija-flor Quartet since 2017, a group formed with her fellow Mozarteum students. Starting from the 2023/24 season, Isidora Timotijević will serve as the principal violist with the Munich Chamber Orchestra. She plays a viola crafted by Bernd Hiller in 2015. Her diverse performance experience and dedication to her craft mark her as a rising star in the world of classical music.

Pau Codina

Pau Codina, born in 1988 in Barcelona, is an accomplished cellist known for his remarkable talent and extensive performance history across Europe. His journey with the cello began at the tender age of five under the tutelage of Eulàlia Subirà in Manlleu, Barcelona. His passion and dedication to the instrument led him to prestigious institutions such as the Yehudi Menuhin School, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, where he honed his skills under the guidance of renowned cellists Louise Hopkins and Gary Hoffman. Codina’s career is marked by performances in some of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe. He has graced stages such as the Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Hall, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Flagey, Bozar, Pau Casals Auditorium, L’Auditori de Barcelona, and the Palau de la Música Catalana Concert Hall in Barcelona. His versatility as a musician is evident as he performs both as a soloist and a chamber musician, captivating audiences with his profound musicality and technical precision. As a soloist, Pau Codina has collaborated with numerous esteemed orchestras. His notable appearances include performances with the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra of Budapest, the Chamber Orchestra of Wallonie, the RTVE Orchestra in Madrid, the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, and the Andorra Chamber Orchestra. Pau Codina´s discography includes a recording of Saint-Saëns’ Suite Op. 16 for cello and orchestra with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liege, conducted by Christian Arming, under the label Fuga Libera. More recently, he performed Robert Schumann’s Cello Concerto in A minor, Op. 129, with the Camera Musicae Orchestra, conducted by Salvador Mas. In addition to his performance achievements, Pau Codina has garnered numerous accolades and awards throughout his career. He is the recipient of the MBF’s Guilhermina Suggia Award and the Kronberg Cello Festival Schlosskonzert Prize. His talent and artistry have also been recognized at the Primer Palau Competition in Barcelona, where he won both the third prize and the Critique’s Award. Furthermore, he secured the first prize in the Concurso Permanente competition of Jeunesses Musicales of Spain. Currently, Pau Codina is a member of several prominent ensembles, including the Esbjerg Ensemble, Oculi Ensemble, and Trio Fortuny. The Esbjerg Ensemble, Denmark’s oldest professional international chamber music ensemble, is renowned for its dynamic performances and commitment to contemporary and classical repertoire, contributing significantly to the Danish music scene. Trio Fortuny, formed from the deep friendship between Codina, violinist Joel Bardolet, and pianist Marc Heredia, is particularly notable for its dynamic performances and unique musical projects across Europe. The trio has performed on major European stages and has recorded two albums in digital video format featuring works by Schubert, Brahms, Beethoven, Shostakovich, and Mendelssohn. Their collaborative efforts are influenced by esteemed musicians and mentors such as Ferenc Rados, Rainer Schmidt, Claudio Martínez, Gary Hoffman, Anton Kernjak, and Jonathan Brown. Trio Fortuny’s performances have been featured at prestigious festivals, including the Wissembourg International Music Festival, Portaferrada, Temporada Ibercamera Girona, the Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical, L ‘Auditori de Barcelona, Bachcelona, and the Palau de la Música Catalana. Notably, they have secured an artistic residency at the Palau de la Música Catalana for three seasons starting from 2023-2024, further cementing their reputation in the classical music world. Pau Codina’s contributions to music, both as a performer and collaborator, continue to inspire and influence audiences and fellow musicians alike. Tim Crawford

Tim Crawford is an accomplished British violinist, known for his expertise as both a soloist and chamber musician. Currently studying at the Basel Musik Akademie under Rainer Schmidt, Tim Crawford has built a distinguished career performing across the UK and Europe. His deep connection to music began early, born to two violinist parents, and he started his formal education at the Royal Academy of Music at the age of four. During his time there, he won numerous awards and accolades, cementing his reputation as a prodigious talent. Tim Crawford continued his studies at the Guildhall School of Music in London, where he completed his undergraduate degree under Alexander Janiczek. He was awarded a Concert Recital Diploma, the Ivan Sutton Chamber Prize, and the Lord Mayor’s Prize for the highest mark across the music department. His exceptional performance led to an invitation to return as a Chamber Fellow. Tim Crawford’s chamber music career is marked by significant collaborations and achievements. He is a founding member of the Teyber Trio, alongside violist Timothy Ridout and cellist Tim Posner, a partnership that has flourished since they were 15. From 2017 to 2020, he played with the Barbican Quartet, during which they won first prize and the Classical Era Prize at the Joseph Joachim International Chamber Music Competition. Recently, he co-founded the Valo Quartet with Maria Włoszczowska, Lilli Maijala, and Amy Norrington, continuing his journey in chamber music with long-time playing partners. His association with the Esbjerg Ensemble is another highlight of his career, where he regularly performs, adding to his extensive experience in ensemble playing. Tim Crawford has also been a frequent participant in the IMS Prussia Cove Masterclasses, studying with Andras Keller and Steven Isserlis. He is a regular at festivals like Musikdorf Ernen, IMS Prussia Cove, Lewes Chamber Festival, and Wye Valley Chamber Festival. This year, he looks forward to debuting at the West Wycombe Chamber Festival and Festival Resonances. Tim Crawford’s discography includes recordings made with the Celan Quartet, a group he was part of from 2011 to 2014. The quartet, formed with the support of MusicWorks Chamber Courses and violist James Boyd, released a recording of Berg’s Quartet Op.3, receiving critical acclaim. Although the Celan Quartet is no longer active, Tim Crawford continues to collaborate with its members, maintaining the musical bonds they formed. His commitment to music education and outreach is evident in his regular participation in masterclasses and workshops. Maja Horvat communicates the spiritual power of music through her performances, offering joy and comfort which enable her audience members to develop their own unique and meaningful connection with the Arts. She explores the full range of magic and versatility of which the violin is capable through her work as a soloist, chamber musician and in collaboration with ensembles, orchestras and composers all over the world. While constantly exploring masterpieces of all eras, Maja Horvat’s true passion is giving contemporary works a good start in life and finding fresh resonance in lesser-known gems of 20th-century repertoire. ​Maja Horvat gave her debut performance at Wigmore Hall in 2021 as first violinist of the Brompton Quartet, of which she is a founding member and with whom she gives frequent world premieres. They won the St. Martin-in-the-Fields Chamber Music Competition and have collaborated with record producer Andrew Keener and many currently active composer. She has performed with some of the world’s most prominent chamber musicians including Sir Andras Schiff, Tabea Zimmerman, Christian Tetzlaff, Vladimir Mendelssohn and David Cohen. ​In 2019 Maja Horvat was awarded the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Emily Anderson Prize for an outstanding violinist. She is a Tillett Debut Scheme Artist. She has performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra, the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra Mladi Solisti and the Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra. She has appeared at festivals including the Tartini Festival, Stift International Music Festival, ChamberJam Düsseldorf and Festival Ljubljana. Among other accolades, Maja Horvat has won the Temsig Slovenian National Competition and the International Tartini Competition; she was awarded the Special Szymanowski Prize at the inaugural Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition. Maja is also an active orchestral member. She has performed as concertmaster of the Royal College of Music’s Philharmonic and Symphony Orchestra, Fidelio Symphony Orchestra and the Echo Ensemble. She has played with Symphonisches Orchester der Jeunesse Leibnitz, Ljubljana International Orchestra the Symphony Orchestra at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet in Ljubljana. ​It was around the age of three that Maja Horvat felt sure that she wanted to dedicate her life to playing the violin. She finally began learning aged seven. Her first teacher was Bojan Ristić at the Music School Jesenice in Slovenia, where she later studied with Blanka Piotrovska. While still in Jesenice, Maja performed as a soloist in venues across Slovenia as well as in Austria, Germany, Croatia, Italy and the Czech Republic. In 2015 she graduated the Conservatory for Music and Ballet Ljubljana, where she learned with Volodja Balžalorsky. As a Victor and Lillian Hochhauser Scholar at the RCM in London, Maja Horvat studied with Daniel Rowland and Leonid Kerbel while participating in masterclasses with internationally-acclaimed performers such as Maxim Vengerov, Nicola Benedetti, Ivry Gitlis, Saewon Suh, Anton Martynov, Vasilij Meljnikov, Igor Ozim and Wonji Kim Ozim. In June 2022 she finished her Artist Diploma studies at the RCM under the tutelage of Alina Ibragimova.

Recognized by the critics as one of the most exciting talents of his generation, Marc Heredia began playing piano at the age of three and studied with professors Dimitri Bashkirov, Claudio Martínez Mehner, and Denis Lossev in the “Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia” and “Hochschule für Musik Basel”. Marc Heredia has performed extensively throughout Europe, giving recitals both as a soloist and chamber musician, in concert halls such as the “Auditorio Nacional” and the “Fundación Juan March” of Madrid, the “Palau de la Música Catalana” (Barcelona), L’Auditori (Barcelona), Mozart hall Auditorium of Zaragoza, Madrid Congress Palace, etc. He has also appeared in festivals such as the series Soloists of the 21st century in the Sony Auditorium Madrid, and the Ibercamera Girona Concert Season, Wissembourg Festival, Chopin Festival Valldemosa. Currently, Marc Heredia is a member of Trio Fortuny. Trio Fortuny, formed from the deep friendship between Codina, violinist Joel Bardolet, and pianist Marc Heredia, is particularly notable for its dynamic performances and unique musical projects across Europe. The trio has performed on major European stages and has recorded two albums in digital video format featuring works by Schubert, Brahms, Beethoven, Shostakovich, and Mendelssohn. Their collaborative efforts are influenced by esteemed musicians and mentors such as Ferenc Rados, Rainer Schmidt, Claudio Martínez, Gary Hoffman, Anton Kernjak, and Jonathan Brown. Trio Fortuny’s performances have been featured at prestigious festivals, including the Wissembourg International Music Festival, Portaferrada, Temporada Ibercamera Girona, the Centro Nacional de Difusión Musical, L ‘Auditori de Barcelona, Bachcelona, and the Palau de la Música Catalana. Notably, they have secured an artistic residency at the Palau de la Música Catalana for three seasons starting from 2023-2024, further cementing their reputation in the classical music world. As a soloist with orchestra, Marc Heredia has performed with orchestras like OBC – Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, Camera Musicae Orchestra, S.XXI Orchestra, and JONC – Catalonian Young Orchestra. His concerts have been recorded and broadcast many times on the Spanish National Radio and Catalonia Music Radio, and he has also appeared several times in Spanish television.

Under his leadership, the festival has flourished, collaborating with Denmark’s most notable composers and inviting distinguished chamber musicians and soloists from around the globe, thereby establishing a significant cultural event in Denmark’s musical landscape. The Esbjerg Ensemble, Denmark’s most distinguished professional international chamber ensemble, is renowned for its dynamic performances and commitment to contemporary and classical repertoire, contributing significantly to the Danish music scene. Michel Camille’s musical journey began early, winning a full scholarship to Wells Cathedral School at age 11, where he received an intense musical education. This prestigious specialist music school provided him with rigorous training and frequent performance opportunities, both as a soloist and ensemble musician. During this formative period, Michel Camille had the privilege of performing with legendary figures such as Yehudi Menuhin, Yfrah Neamen, Norman del Mar, and Igor Ozim, showcasing his talent in concert halls across Europe and further afield. At 18, Michel Camille’s burgeoning talent was recognised through numerous awards for his solo and chamber music performances in London. He won the “Premier Prix” at the Guildhall School of Music, where he studied under the esteemed Professor David Takeno, and later the “Concerto Prize” at Banff Fine Arts, cementing his reputation as a formidable viola player. His early professional career included significant roles as principal violist with prestigious orchestras such as the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, the London Musici, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, and the City of London Sinfonia. Opting to dedicate himself entirely to chamber music, Michel Camille has since performed extensively on the international stage. His collaborations span both classical and contemporary genres, working with renowned international chamber ensembles and contributing to a vibrant and diverse repertoire. As an Artistic Director, Michel Camille is celebrated for his innovative programming and creative collaborations, which often blend music with other art forms, such as dance and puppet theatre. Kristoffer Nyholm Hyldig

Kristoffer Nyholm Hyldig is a distinguished Danish pianist from Bornholm, celebrated for his interpretations of the solo piano works by French composer Olivier Messiaen. He graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Music in 2010, studying under Professor Niklas Sivelöv and Tove Lønskov. His chamber music debut came in 2016 with Trio Nord. As a soloist, Hyldig has performed with prominent orchestras, including the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, CPH Phil, and the Royal Danish Orchestra. He is a frequent performer at music societies and festivals, both in Denmark and internationally. His international appearances include performances in Italy, Germany, Poland, England, China, and the United States, with notable concerts at Carnegie Hall in New York. Since 2006, Hyldig has released numerous recordings featuring lieder, chamber music, and solo works by composers such as Debussy, Ravel, Messiaen, Bent Sørensen, and Hindemith. He is actively involved in various chamber music collaborations, including the Messiaen Quartet Copenhagen and a lieder partnership with internationally renowned Wagnerian soprano Brit-Tone Müllertz. Dinu completed his Bachelor’s degree at the National University of Music in Bucharest, where he received rigorous training and honed his craft. His dedication and talent were evident early on, paving the way for advanced studies. Seeking to further his expertise, Dinu enrolled in a postgraduate degree at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Here, he is under the tutelage of Professor Max Artved, a distinguished oboist known for his exceptional teaching and performance career. Throughout his studies and professional career, Dinu has gained extensive performance experience with several prestigious orchestras. He has played with Tivoli’s Promenade Orchestra, the Danish Chamber Orchestra, the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra. These opportunities have allowed him to showcase his technical prowess and musical sensitivity, earning him recognition and respect within the classical music community. In addition to these accomplishments, David Daniel Dinu has secured the esteemed position of oboist with the Esbjerg Ensemble. Mikkel Egelund Nielsen and Simon Wildau, both highly accomplished classical guitarists, first met during their studies at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus, Denmark. Their mutual passion for guitar performance and chamber music led them to form the AROS Guitar Duo in 2009. The duo was initially created to perform a series of concerts in Bergen, Norway, but their collaboration quickly evolved into a long-term musical partnership that has seen them perform extensively in Denmark and internationally. Both Nielsen and Wildau have achieved significant success both as soloists and as a duo, earning prestigious awards at numerous international competitions. Their accolades include the 1st prize at the Omiš Guitar Fest in Croatia, the 1st prize at the Fiuggi International Guitar Festival in Italy, the 2nd prize at the Acerra International Guitar Competition in Italy, and most recently, the 1st prize at the Liechtensteiner Gitarrentage in 2018. Additionally, in 2017, they were honored with a special prize for the best performance of a new Danish work at the P2 Chamber Music Competition for their rendition of John Frandsen’s guitar duo “Twilight.” Individually, both guitarists have completed advanced studies in music. Mikkel Egelund Nielsen holds a Master’s Degree in Music from the prestigious Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne, Germany. Simon Wildau, on the other hand, earned his Master’s Degree in Music from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain. Their rigorous academic backgrounds have provided them with a strong foundation in classical guitar performance and have significantly shaped their musical careers. Furthering their education, both Nielsen and Wildau completed the advanced postgraduate diploma (soloist class) at The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus. In September 2018, they made their debut as a duo from the advanced postgraduate diploma (soloist level) at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. Their studies were guided by Associate Professor in classical guitar Jesper Sivebæk and Professor Tim Frederiksen, both of whom are renowned for their expertise and contributions to the field of classical music. The AROS Guitar Duo has also sought to expand their artistic horizons through international studies and masterclasses. Between 2010 and 2011, they studied in Barcelona with the esteemed Spanish guitarist Àlex Garrobé. Additionally, they have attended masterclasses conducted by various international soloists and professors, further refining their technique and interpretive skills. Over the years, the AROS Guitar Duo has performed at numerous prestigious venues and festivals, captivating audiences with their technical proficiency, expressive performances, and dynamic repertoire.
